Viking VECU166 36-Inch Electric Cooktop
Viking made the VECU166 as a 36-inch electric radiant cooktop with QuickCook elements and high infrared transmission under a glass ceramic top. It is retired, and the extra width gives owners room for large pans.
Fast-heating elements work hard, and the controls take the same punishment. We usually find a burner that heats weakly, a knob that feels loose, or an indicator light that does not reflect reality. We check supply and connections, measure the element, and test the switch. Wide tops should also be checked for sagging or edge chipping while we are there.
You get a written price and a 30-day warranty.
Please tell us which zone is affected when you book. We also check the wiring where it meets the terminal block for heat marks.
The light shows hot-surface status and should go out when the glass cools. If it stays on for hours, the sensor or board may be failing, so we test them.
A worn stem or switch. The knob may spin without changing the setting. We replace the switch if testing shows it is not responding correctly.
It is safe to leave it briefly, but heat lingers. Move the pan to a trivet and let the glass cool before cleaning to avoid damage.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
