Viking VDR73624G 7 Series Range
The VDR73624G is a current 7 Series 36-inch dual fuel range with Elevation burners, a VariSimmer setting, the SureSpark ignition system and a 5.6 cu. ft. electric oven. The G in its number points to the griddle version, which pairs four burners with a griddle.
SureSpark re-lights a burner that blows out, so a burner that clicks continually is a sign of a dirty port or a worn electrode. We clean the Elevation burners individually and test each, then check the griddle for even heat. In the oven we compare real temperature with the setting, test the sensor and look at the lock after self-clean. If gas is ever noticeable in the room, get out and call the gas utility. A price in writing, then the repair, then a 30-day warranty on our workmanship.
It is the burner design used on the 7 Series. We service it like other sealed burners: lift, clean, dry and test the spark. We test each burner individually.
Not usually. A clogged port or a thermostat reading low is more likely. We clean the burner and test the thermostat. Also compare the flame from side to side.
SureSpark keeps sparking if it does not sense a flame. A dirty port or a wet electrode causes it, and we clean and test both. Yes, that is the normal arrangement for this model.
