Viking RDSCE230 D3 Electric Range
The RDSCE230 is a retired Viking D3 30-inch electric self-clean range with five QuickCook surface elements, each reaching full power in nearly three seconds. Five elements give a flexible cooktop, and it is the kind of range a family uses for several dishes at once.
We begin at the cooktop, testing each element with a meter and checking its switch and connector. In the oven, we examine the bake and broil elements, the sensor and the door lock after a self-clean cycle. The control gets cycled through its settings. A self-clean oven runs hot, so the latch and the door seal are worth checking even when no message appears. Our quote is written before work begins, and 30 days of workmanship warranty follow the repair.
Wait until the oven has cooled. If the door still will not release, we test the lock motor and latch and free them without forcing the door.
No. A slow element is an element or switch problem, which we measure and repair on its own. We measure the element and its switch with a meter, and replace only the part that fails.
Not normally. The heat is hard on latches and seals more than on elements, so those are what we check after years of use. We check the latch and seal for wear.
