Viking FPIM5151 Panel Ice Machine
The FPIM5151 is a 15-inch undercounter panel-ready clear ice machine with a drain pump, from the Professional clear ice series. It accepts a custom cabinetry panel and makes ice in a continuous cycle.
Because it is built into cabinetry, the airflow around it is limited, and the condenser runs hotter than in a freestanding unit. A machine that makes less ice than it used to often has a dusty condenser or a restricted vent. We check that first, then the water fill, the bin-full sensor and the drain pump that clears melt and rinse water. The sensor is worth testing, since a false full reading stops production while the bin is half empty.

The bin-full sensor may be dirty or misreading. We clean it and test its response with ice at different levels, and replace it only if it still reads wrongly.
It moves melt and rinse water out of the machine where gravity drainage is not practical. If water collects in the base, we test the pump, the float and the discharge hose.
A hot condenser, low water supply or scale on the evaporator reduces output. We clean the condenser first, then check the supply and the evaporator surface.
