Viking FDFB5303 Left-Hinge Freezer Column
The FDFB5303 left-hinge version is a 30-inch panel-ready all-freezer column from the Professional series, with 15.9 cubic feet of capacity. It takes a custom cabinetry panel, so it usually stands in a bank of cabinetry next to a refrigerator column.
A freezer column of this size works constantly, and the issues build slowly: frost creeping up the back wall, ice crystals on food, or an alarm that sounds when the door is clearly shut. We start with the door seal and the hinge alignment, because a gap invites warm air and frost. Then we check the air-temperature sensor and the defrost cycle, and listen to the evaporator fan.
Gaps behind a heavy custom panel can also strain the hinges. You receive the price in writing before we begin.
A worn seal, a door that sits slightly out of line, or a failing switch can trigger it. We check the seal and alignment first, then test the door switch.
Frost often means the defrost cycle is not finishing or warm air is leaking past the seal. We test the defrost parts and the gasket to see which applies.
Only for door and panel hardware. The cooling system is the same on left and right versions, so diagnosis follows the same steps and the same parts apply to either hinge side.
