Viking DSCE130 Designer Electric Range
The DSCE130 is a retired Designer Series 30-inch freestanding electric range with QuickCook surface elements that reach full power in nearly three seconds. Because it is all electric, it needs no gas line, and cooks of every kind use it in kitchens where gas is not available.
When an element will not heat, we test the element itself, its switch and the connector, using a meter so there is no guessing. The quick start is the feature owners notice most, so a slow element is worth checking early. In the oven, we test the bake and broil elements and the sensor, compare real temperature to the setting, and look at the door seal. We also inspect the cooktop surface for cracks. Nothing starts until you have the price in writing, and our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.
The element, its switch or the connector may have failed. We measure each with a meter and replace only the part that shows a problem. Calling sooner keeps a small problem from growing.
It could be, or the sensor could read wrong. We test both and also confirm the range is level. We measure the real temperature with a thermometer and compare it with the dial, then test the element and the sensor in turn.
We advise against it. A crack can spread and let spills reach the electrical parts, so turn the range off and call us. Then we can check for damage underneath.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
