Viking DESO130 Select Oven Service
The DESO130 is a retired 30-inch Designer series single select oven, electric. It is the wider relative of the 27-inch DESO127, with one cavity and one door.
Wide temperature swings usually come from a sensor that no longer reads accurately, so we put a reference thermometer in the cavity and watch how the control reacts. A door that hangs crooked has a hinge or spring failure and leaks heat from one corner. An unevenly heating broiler gets its element tested for hot and cold sections.
A flickering display is traced to loose connections or a power supply on its way out. Terminals on the supply side are checked for scorching. Since the model is retired, we verify part availability before quoting. The written price comes first, and our repair is covered by a 30-day warranty.
A drifting sensor makes the control heat too long or too little. We compare the real temperature with a reference thermometer and replace the sensor if needed.
Parts of it glow dimly or not at all. We measure resistance and look for breaks or blisters. A broiler that glows evenly is a good sign; patches are not.
It wastes heat and strains the lock, and it can swing open unexpectedly. Hinge repair is simple and worth doing. Parts are inexpensive, and the fix is quick.
