Viking touch-control electric wall ovens such as the Professional VESO530T and VEDO530T and the Designer DSOE305T show COOLING ERROR when the cooling fan turns slower than the minimum speed the control expects. The control reads fan speed through a Hall-effect sensor, and the official note is to verify that sensor connection. Because the fan protects the cabinet and the control from heat, the oven may stop heating or limit use until the condition is cleared. Expect the message on the display and possibly a louder or quieter fan.
1. Press OFF and let the oven cool completely, at least an hour. 2. Check that nothing is blocking vents around the oven and that the cabinet is not packed with stored items. 3. Reset the oven breaker by turning it off, counting to sixty, and turning it on again. 4. Run a short bake and listen for the fan. 5. If the message returns, stop using the oven and call us.
We advise against it. The cooling fan keeps heat away from the control and the cabinet. If the message returns after a reset, leave the oven off until it is inspected.
It can, which is why one breaker reset is worth trying once. If the message returns on the next heated cycle, the cause is the fan or its sensor, not the power.
We check fan speed and the sensor connection, then replace only the part that fails the test. You get a written price first, and workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
