On Viking Professional VDB450 and Designer DDB325 built-in dishwashers with the second-generation electronic control, AC Power Loss means incoming power was lost while a cycle was running. When power comes back, the indicator lights flash in a pattern to tell you the cycle was interrupted rather than finished. The Pots/Pans light flashes, then the Normal Wash light flashes, and the dishes inside will be only partly washed.
1. Check whether the lights in the house went out or a breaker tripped. Reset the dishwasher's breaker once if it did. 2. Close the door fully and press Start or Resume to continue. 3. Hold START for four seconds if you prefer to cancel and run a fresh cycle. 4. If the lights flash again with steady power in the house, call us.
Not on its own. It records that power dropped during a cycle. A storm or a tripped breaker is enough to cause it. Repeated alerts with steady house power deserve a service look.
Often you can press Start or Resume and the cycle carries on. For a heavily soiled load, hold START for four seconds to cancel and run it again from the beginning.
If power flickered while you were out, the dishwasher cannot tell you the time. It shows the interrupted-cycle lights when it comes back, so you know the dishes may be unwashed.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
