On Viking induction and radiant cooktops with an LED flash code, such as the VICU105-4B and VICU165-6B, three flashes with a brief interval mean an internal power device malfunction. The same table applies to the VIRT301 and VCRT301 rangetops. This is an electronics problem inside the unit, not a pan or a setting, and the cooktop may refuse to heat at all.
1. Turn all zones off. 2. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then back on. 3. Try one zone at a medium setting with a flat induction-ready pan. 4. If the three flashes come back, leave the cooktop off. 5. Call us for a proper check.
Sometimes a power glitch clears. If the three flashes come back, the power device itself is the issue and needs a technician. It is an electronics matter, not something a cleaner can touch.
Not for this pattern. Cookware problems have their own flash code. Three flashes points inside the unit, which is a different problem from the one-flash overheating pattern.
We quote the price in writing before any work. Replacing a power device is a larger repair, and it comes with our 30-day workmanship warranty.
