Viking RDMOR206 Convection Hood Repair
The RDMOR206 pairs microwave cooking with real convection in a 30-inch hood, and it preheats before baking. Mounted over a range, it works in rising heat all day, so the convection heater, its fan and the thermal protection around them age faster than they would in a countertop unit.
Owners usually describe one of two situations. Either microwave power is fine and convection never gets hot, or the oven quits mid-bake. In the first case we measure the heater and the temperature sensor; in the second we look at the thermal fuse and the cooling airflow.
We also check the vent fan and grease filters while we are there, since they share the same housing. The price is written and agreed before we start, and a retired model gets extra time for parts sourcing. Our work carries a 30-day warranty.
The microwave circuit and the convection circuit are separate. We test the convection heater, the temperature sensor and the relay that powers them. A burned-out heater is the most common finding on hoods that bake often.
Convection generates a lot of heat inside a small cabinet. If the cooling fan is weak or a thermal protector has aged, the oven shuts itself down. We test both and the airflow path.
Yes. They share the housing, so one visit can cover the convection heater, the fan, the lamps and the door switches. We quote the full job in writing before opening anything.
