Viking DMOR205 Designer Microwave Hood
The DMOR205 is a retired Designer series convection microwave hood with a panel-ready front. It is the counterpart of the VMOR205, with 13 sensor cooking settings, a rotating turntable and a child safety lock.
A panel on the door changes how the latch engages. If the panel shifts or the door sags slightly, the latch may not catch squarely and the interlock may not close, so the oven will not start. We check the panel alignment first, then the latch and the switches. Heating problems lead us to the magnetron and its diode and capacitor. Over the cooktop, the fan and lamps collect grease, so they are tested too.
We confirm the model from the tag for a retired unit and quote in writing before work.
A panel that has shifted can keep the latch from engaging the interlock switches. We adjust the alignment and test the switches before replacing any parts.
Wipe it with a mild cleaner, but do not let liquid run into the door seams or the control. Moisture can reach the latch and the keypad.
It rotates the plate so food heats evenly. If the plate does not turn, the coupler, the roller ring or the motor may be at issue, and we test them.
