Viking MVDOE6301 RVL Oven Service
The MVDOE6301 is a current RVL series double electric convection oven in black, with capacitive touch control, a temperature probe, a two-speed convection system and 4.3 cu ft of capacity. It is designed for seamless integration, with no bottom venting.
With no bottom vent, the oven relies on other paths to shed heat, so cooling fans and airflow get our early attention. A capacitive panel responds to the lightest touch and can misread when wet or when static builds, so we inspect it for moisture and test its connection. If the probe is not detected, we test the jack and the probe’s resistance.
The two convection speeds depend on a fan motor that can change speed, and a failing motor may run at only one. As a current model, its parts are generally easy to source. You get a written price before work and a 30-day warranty.
The jack may be dirty or damaged, or the probe may have an open wire. We test the probe with a meter and inspect the jack.
The fan motor or the control signal that changes its speed may have failed. We test the motor's speed windings and the board output. A stuck speed relay is another possibility we test.
Heat must leave another way, so cooling fans and airflow paths matter more. We check them whenever the control or wiring shows heat damage. Overheated wiring is the most common clue.
