Viking VESO1272 Single Oven Repair
The VESO1272 is a 27-inch single electric wall oven from Viking’s Professional Custom Select line, an older generation that came before the current naming. Its bake element is hidden beneath the floor of the cavity, and it has a TruConvec convection motor and element.
A hidden bake element changes the way we diagnose heat problems. We cannot see a glowing coil, so we measure its resistance and the current it draws. A cavity that heats slowly or unevenly often has a weakened element, while one that never warms may have a failed relay or a tripped thermal fuse. Broil elements, glass-enclosed or tubular depending on configuration, are tested the same way.
Self-clean locks and aging sensors round out the checks. Because the unit is an older generation, parts are confirmed first, and the written price follows. A 30-day warranty comes with the repair.
We disconnect it and measure its resistance, then check the current it draws when the oven calls for heat. A burned or weak element shows up clearly in those numbers.
A weakened element, a drifting sensor or a worn door seal can each slow it. We test them in that order and fix the one that is out of range.
The motor and blade can be replaced individually. We check the fan for noise and wobble, then quote the motor if its bearings are worn. A new motor restores quiet, even airflow.
