Viking RVGC33015B 30-Inch Gas Cooktop
The RVGC33015B is a current 30-inch gas cooktop from the 3 Series. It has the SureSpark ignition system, a continuous grate, metal die-cast knobs and permanently sealed burners.
Sealed burners keep spills out of the cabinet, but they do not keep them out of the ports. After a few years, a burner that took a boil-over may click and stay dark. We start at the caps and heads, cleaning and reseating them, then watch the SureSpark ignition on each burner. If one lags we test the igniter and wire before moving to the module. Low flame is the last check, since it depends on all of the others being right.
We provide written pricing before work starts.
As a current model, replacement igniters are easy to find.
It is the ignition system that sparks the burners. When one burner fails to light, we test its igniter, wire and the module, in that order, and replace only what tests bad.
Many cooktops spark all igniters together. That is normal. A burner that keeps clicking after it lights may have a wet igniter. Dry it or call us.
Yes, when cool. Lift the grate and caps, wash with mild soap, dry, and put the caps back centered. Do not pour water on the igniters.
