Viking RDGSU200 30-Inch Gas Cooktop
The RDGSU200 is a 30-inch gas cooktop in the Viking D3 series, with five burners, continuous grates and a one-piece steel top. It is retired, but the seamless top keeps spills from reaching the cabinet.
Five burners on a 30-inch top means tightly packed heads, and spills tend to land in the ports. We find that most calls begin with a burner that sparks but fails to light or burns with a ragged flame. We start with cleaning and reseating the caps, then test every igniter, then look at the low setting. The one-piece top is simple to wipe, but we check around the burner bases for pooled liquid.
If you smell gas, leave and call the gas utility from outside.
Five burners on a one-piece steel top with continuous grates. Each has its own igniter, so a failure on one burner is usually isolated to that burner.
Its position, port size and cap can differ from the outer burners. If it lights poorly, we clean it and check its igniter and cap seating first.
Steel can stain if moisture sits on it. Wipe spills quickly and dry the surface. If you see rust forming near burner bases, let us inspect it.
