Viking VDSC548T 48-Inch Electronic Range
Retired and 48 inches wide, the VDSC548T is a 5 Series dual fuel range that uses electronic control. The T marks the electronic control version, and at 48 inches the range has a wide gas cooktop above two electric ovens.
With a single board running two ovens, we want to know whether a problem is shared or local. We read the display, test the connectors, and then check each oven’s sensor, elements and lock separately. On top, each burner gets cleaned and tested for spark. The range’s level and anti-tip mounting are checked too. A hint of gas calls for fresh air: step out, then call the gas utility. You see our written price before we open anything, and our workmanship warranty lasts 30 days. We finish with a full run of both ovens to confirm the display and the control respond.
If only one oven misbehaves, its own parts are suspect. If both do, the shared board is the next place we look. Then we test the shared board.
The burners are gas-ignited and independent of the display. The display needs its own power and connector, which we test. The display has its own circuit.
Not for control or oven repairs. We do so only when the range must be pulled out, and we test the connection afterward. The oven is separate from the gas line.
