Viking BVGRC848 Brigade 48-Inch Range
The BVGRC848 is a retired 48-inch Brigade range, built to order with the same features as the 36-inch version: 23,000 BTU sealed burners and a commercial-capacity oven. It is a big, heavy range that sits in kitchens where cooking is a serious daily activity.
High-output burners push a lot of heat through the ports, so a small blockage changes the flame fast. We clean each burner, dry it and test the spark, then judge the flame. In the oven, we measure the actual temperature, check the igniter and safety valve, and look at the door and its seal. Because the range is large, we also check that it sits level and is secured against tipping. If gas is in the air, everyone leaves, and the gas utility is called from a safe distance. The price is put in writing up front; the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
At that output, any blockage changes the flame shape quickly and can cause uneven heating or yellow tips. Regular cleaning keeps the flame blue and steady.
Yes. A heavy, wide range that leans will bake unevenly. We adjust the feet and confirm the range is secured against tipping. Both the hinges and the seal affect how much heat stays inside.
Hinges or the gasket may be worn. We check both, because a poor seal wastes heat and affects temperature control. We usually find the cause in minutes: hinge wear, a torn gasket or a door that has sagged slightly on its mounting.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
