Viking RVGR3305B Gas Range Service
The RVGR3305B is a 30-inch freestanding gas range with a Direct Spark Ignition board, a ProFlow convection oven and continuous cast-iron grates. It carries a 3 Series style number, and it is usually found in kitchens where an older, plainly equipped range has been in daily use.
Two of the issues we see are specific to its electronics. The ignition board can lock on a bad reading and stop burners from sparking, and the sensor that watches the convection fan can fail and make the fan stop. We test both before touching the igniters. After that come the regular items: cleaning the burner ports, testing each spark and checking the oven latch after self-clean.
A smell of gas calls for leaving immediately and ringing the gas utility from outdoors. Before work, a written price; after work, a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The fan sensor or its connector may have failed, so the oven control no longer sees the fan. We test the sensor and wiring before replacing the fan motor.
A power event can upset the ignition board. We reset what we can and test the board output, then replace it only if it stays unresponsive.
No. Use your normal pans, and keep the oven racks clear of foil that blocks the fan so air can circulate freely. Keep racks clear so the air can move the way the fan intends it to move.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
