On Viking Designer undercounter dishwashers DFUD042, DFUD142 and DFUD142P, a flashing light china indicator reports a problem with the water inlet. These European-built models use icons rather than numbers. Most of the time the cause is simply a closed tap. The dishwasher is not getting water in as expected. Check that the tap is open, then turn the main switch off and on again to clear the display.
1. Open the water tap under the sink fully. 2. Look at the supply hose behind the dishwasher for kinks. 3. Switch the dishwasher off and back on with the main switch to clear the display. 4. Start a cycle and listen for water filling. 5. If the icon flashes again with water available, call us.
It is the icon on the DFUD display that goes with the water inlet problem. When it flashes, the machine is telling you water is not coming in as it should.
Turn the main switch off and on to clear it. If it returns with the tap fully open, the supply hose or the inlet valve may be restricted and needs a look.
Mineral buildup can clog the inlet screen and slow the flow. If cleaning is needed, we handle it during the visit and quote any parts in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
