E:02 appears on current Viking VDWU and FDWU 324, 524 and 724 dishwashers, including water-softener versions, when the machine cannot take water in. This happens if the main water supply is cut or the water inlet valve is turned off. The E:02 icon flashes and the program pauses, then resumes by itself when water returns, so many cases need no repair.
1. Run the kitchen faucet to confirm the house has water. 2. Check that the dishwasher shut-off valve under the sink is fully open. 3. Look at the supply hose behind the machine for sharp bends if you can reach it. 4. Once water flows, the program should resume on its own. If E:02 stays on with water available, call us.
Usually not. The program pauses and picks up where it left off when water returns. If it stays paused after the supply is back, switch the machine off and on.
The valve under the sink may be closed, or the hose may be kinked. If both check out, the inlet valve or its strainer may be the cause, and we should look.
Very low pressure can slow filling, but E:02 is mainly about water not coming in at all. Check other fixtures too, since a local supply issue shows up elsewhere.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
