On Viking 5 Series and Professional 7 Series built-in refrigerators with a freezer ice maker, such as the VCSB5424 and FDSB5484, the display shows dSp IcE when the ice maker system needs a reset. Press the ALARM key to reset it. The same message appears on the refrigerator listing, and it lives on this page. It is a status message, not a sign of a leak.
1. Press ALARM to reset the ice maker. 2. Check that the ice bin is seated and ice is not jammed. 3. Close the freezer door fully. 4. Wait a few hours for new ice. 5. If dSp IcE returns, call us.
Press the ALARM key. If the display clears and ice resumes, no repair is needed. Use the ALARM key on the control panel, not the power switch.
A power interruption or an interruption in the ice cycle can trigger it. Ice and water supply should be checked too. We can check both on a visit.
If dSp IcE keeps coming back, call us. The price is written first and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty. Interrupted ice cycles and a jammed ice maker arm are the usual causes, and we can check the water supply too.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
