On Viking built-in all-freezers and bottom-freezer models such as the VCFB5303, FDFB5303 and VCBB5363E, and on the current 5 Series, the HIGH TEMP light glows and an alarm sounds when the refrigerator or freezer temperature has been too high for two hours. A blinking light shows which part of the appliance is affected. Pressing ALARM OFF silences the sound, though the light stays until the temperature recovers.
1. Press ALARM OFF to silence the alarm, then check that both doors are fully closed and nothing sticks out of the drawers. 2. Look at the door gasket for gaps or food debris. 3. Clean the front grille so air can reach the condenser. 4. Give it a few hours. If the light is still on, move food to another freezer and call us.
The alarm sounds when the temperature has stayed too high for two hours. A quick door opening should not trigger it, but a door left ajar or a power outage will.
Judge by the food itself: foods with ice crystals and still firm are usually fine to keep, while soft or warm food should be discarded. When in doubt, throw it out.
It marks which part of the appliance is affected, the refrigerator side or the freezer side, so you can tell us when you call and we can bring the right parts.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
