On the Viking Combi Steam/Convect ovens VCSO210 and CVCSO210 (2014 to 2016), such as the VCSO210SS, Water is frozen is an information message. It means water in the system has frozen, which can happen after the oven was stored or shipped in the cold. The official remedy is to run Convection Broil with the oven empty and preheat for five minutes. The warm-up thaws the ice so steam functions can work.
1. Remove all food and racks from the oven. 2. Run Convection Broil with the oven empty. 3. Preheat for five minutes. 4. Let the oven cool and check that the message has cleared. 5. If it stays, call us.
If the oven sits in a cold room or truck, the small amount of water left in the lines can freeze. The oven detects it and asks for a thaw.
Not usually. A gentle warm-up thaws the ice. If lines were cracked by freezing, water leaks would show up, and we should look at the oven.
Keep the oven in a heated space and drain it before long cold storage. If the message returns, call us and we will quote in writing before work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
