On Viking Combi Steam/Convect ovens VCSO210 and CVCSO210 (2014 to 2016) and on the VSOC530/MVSOC530 models, such as the VCSO210SS and VSOC530SS, the message Fill water reservoir means the water reservoir is empty. The oven needs water to make steam, so it pauses or will not start a steam function until you refill it. It is a user message, and it clears once the reservoir holds water and sits correctly.
1. Remove the water reservoir and fill it with fresh water to the maximum line. 2. Slide it back in until it seats firmly. 3. Wipe the reservoir contact area dry. 4. Restart the steam function. 5. If the message stays with a full reservoir, call us.
Steam needs water. Without it the generator could overheat, so the oven pauses and asks for a refill before it will continue with any steam function.
Reseat the reservoir and wipe its contacts. If the message stays, scale or the level sensor may be the cause, and we can check and descale the oven.
Fresh, cool tap water or filtered water is usual. Very hard water brings the descale prompts sooner. Ask us if your water leaves heavy scale.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
