On the Viking Combi Steam/Convect ovens VCSO210 and CVCSO210 (2014 to 2016), such as the VCSO210SS, EE01 means an oven thermistor failure. The thermistor measures the oven temperature, and EE01 appears when its circuit is broken or shorted. With no valid reading the control cannot regulate heat, so the oven stops. The display shows EE01 and the oven needs a technician to test and replace the sensor.
1. Switch the oven off and let it cool. 2. Disconnect the power cord for a short wait, then reconnect it. 3. Try one short steam or convection cycle. 4. If EE01 returns, stop using the oven. 5. Call us and give us the code and the model number.
It is a temperature sensor whose resistance changes with heat. The control reads it to hold the oven at the set temperature. EE01 says that reading is lost.
We recommend not cooking. Without a valid reading the oven cannot control heat, so the safe choice is to stop and have the sensor tested before the next cycle.
We test the thermistor and its wiring, replace whatever has failed, and quote the price in writing first. Repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty from the day of the visit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
