Viking Professional VDSC5xxT dual-fuel ranges with the EOC4 control, for example the VDSC548T-4GQ or VDSC530T-4B, show Model Header when the control finds no model header or the wrong one for the VDSC display. The model header tells the control what size and type of range it is running, so with it missing or undefined the oven cannot start its normal functions. This often follows a control replacement.
1. Turn the oven off. 2. Switch the range breaker off for a minute, then on. 3. Watch whether Model Header shows again on startup. 4. Do not press keys while it boots. 5. If it returns, call us. The header is on the control board, behind the panel.
It may have shifted or failed, or a replacement control was fitted without the correct header. Either way, the control cannot tell which range it belongs to.
A power reset can clear a startup glitch, but a missing or wrong header needs a technician who brings the right part for your exact model, because the header must match the range.
Give us the full model number from the range data plate, and mention if the control was recently replaced. We quote the price in writing before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
