Viking VDB450 Heavy-Duty Dishwasher Repair
The VDB450 is a retired Designer Series 24-inch Intelli-Wash dishwasher that includes a heavy-duty wash setting, LED1 and LED2 diagnostic lights, and the need for a custom panel and handle.
The heavy-duty cycle asks the most of the wash pump and spray arms, so those are the parts that show strain first. A pump that hums but pushes less water, or a spray arm with blocked holes, leaves pans dirty even on the strongest setting. We begin by reading the diagnostic lights, then clean the filters, inspect the spray arms, and test the pump pressure. Draining and the inlet are checked as well.
Our estimate is in writing before work, and repairs are covered by a 30-day warranty.
The finished repair is tested with a full heavy-duty cycle.
Weak spray from a tired pump or blocked arm holes is the typical cause. We clean the filters and arms, then measure pump performance to see whether the pump needs attention.
Tell us whether LED1 and LED2 are on, off or flashing, and when it happens. That narrows our search to the drain, inlet or sensor before we open the machine.
Yes. An unlevel machine can leak, drain poorly, and make the door close badly. We check leveling and the door springs whenever we service older undercounter units.
