The FGNI515 is a Professional nugget ice machine, 15 inches wide, undercounter or freestanding with a gravity drain. It makes soft, chewable nugget ice in a continuous cycle.
Nugget ice depends on an auger that scrapes ice off the freezing surface and pushes it through a forming head, so the auger motor and the water supply are where we focus. Scale narrows the water path and makes the auger work harder, and a motor that strains may slow, stall or make noise. When a machine stops making ice, we check the fill, the drain and the auger first, then the refrigeration controls. If the compressor is silent, the start parts and the controls are tested before anything is replaced.
