Viking VSOF730 French-Door Oven
The VSOF730 is a 30-inch single electric wall oven with a French-door design: two narrower panels that open independently in place of one wide door. It also has TruConvec convection and a self-clean function. The narrower panels swing out less far, which is a help in a tight kitchen.
The special repair concern is the meeting line between the two panels. The panels must close tightly against each other and against the cavity gasket, and a hinge that has dropped even slightly opens a gap that leaks heat. We check the hinges, the closing action and the gaskets before looking at the heating parts.
After self-clean, the lock must engage on both panels and release again, so we test the latch hardware at both sides. The sensor is compared with a thermometer. A written price is given first, and the work comes with a 30-day warranty.
A hinge may have dropped or a panel may be out of alignment. We adjust or replace the hinge and check the gasket where the two panels meet.
Yes, the panels open independently. If one resists or sags, we inspect its hinge and spring. Hinge wear is the common cause of a panel that drags or hangs low.
The latch engages across the pair of doors. We test the lock hardware on both sides to make sure it engages and releases together. A latch that engages on only one side can trip a lock error.
