Viking VEDO5302T Touch Premiere Oven
The VEDO5302T is a retired 30-inch electric double Premiere oven. An intuitive touch control display handles the settings, and Viking described the cavity and convection fan as the largest available at the time. A large cavity and a large fan make airflow the center of many repairs.
A sluggish convection fan can no longer move enough air, and baking turns uneven. We test the motor’s speed and check its bearings. A lagging touch display points to the glass layer or its cable, and dim digits to a failing backlight or supply. If the lower cavity will not heat, we test its bake element, sensor and relay, because the display tells us little about those parts.
Retired parts are confirmed first, the price is in writing, and the repair is warranted for 30 days.
Worn bearings, a failing motor or a loose blade reduce its speed. We test the motor, clean the housing and replace the motor when needed. A slow fan leaves hot and cold spots in the cavity.
The touch layer may be worn or the cable loose. We test the response zone by zone and reseat the connection. A worn touch layer has to be replaced, since cleaning will not restore it.
Only partly. The display shows what the control asks for, not what the parts do, so we test elements and sensors directly. Checking those directly is the only way to know what actually happens inside the cavity.
