Viking VDOE527 Double Oven Service
The VDOE527 packs two TruConvec convection cavities into a 27-inch wall opening, with Rapid Ready preheat and TruGlide full-extension racks. Each cavity has its own heating elements and lock hardware, while a single central board controls both.
Because the cavities are independent in most respects, we test one at a time. A cavity that heats poorly gets its bake and broil elements measured and its sensor checked. A lock that fails after self-clean gets its motor and switch examined. The shared board is the suspect only when both cavities show trouble together or when one of them stops responding altogether.
TruGlide racks that bind need their glides cleaned and lubricated or replaced. Racks cooked at self-clean temperature can lose their lubricant. We write the price before work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The lower bake element or sensor is usually responsible. We measure the element and compare the sensor reading with a thermometer before suspecting the board. The cavity's own parts are the cheaper suspects.
Heat from self-clean can burn off the lubricant, and spills can gum up the glides. We clean them, relubricate and replace any that are bent. Bent glides are replaced as a pair so the rack runs level.
If both cavities lose control or one stops responding while its parts test good, the board is suspect. We then check connections before replacing it. A new board is a last step, not the first.
