Viking RVGC33615B 36-Inch Gas Cooktop
The RVGC33615B is the current 36-inch gas cooktop in the 3 Series with SureSpark ignition. It has a continuous grate, metal die-cast knobs and permanently sealed burners.
On a cooktop with this much surface, boil-overs happen, and sealed burners handle them well. Still, the ports and igniter tips pick up film. A typical visit includes taking off the caps, cleaning the heads, then lighting each burner and noting which one hesitates. If one does, we test its igniter and then the module. Gas smell means a different approach: get out of the house and call the gas utility from outside.
You see our price in writing before we begin, and the work has a 30-day warranty.
As a current model, parts are normally easy to find.
Residue near that burner's igniter or port is the likely cause. We clean it and test the spark. If it is still slow, the igniter itself is worn.
Yes, the die-cast knobs can be replaced. If a knob only looks loose, the valve stem may be wearing instead, so we test that before ordering.
They catch spills well, but they still need cleaning at the heads. Regular cleaning keeps ignition quick and the flame even, and it lets us find an igniter that is getting weak before it fails.
