Viking RDGSU260 36-Inch Gas Cooktop
Viking built the RDGSU260 with 36 inches of one-piece steel top, five burners and continuous grates as part of the D3 series. It is now retired. The extra width gives pots room to slide between burners.
Aging shows up as slow ignition, flames leaning to one side, and low settings that blow out. We lift the caps and clean the ports, confirm that each cap sits level, and test every igniter with the knob on. Then we watch each burner at its lowest setting. If something needs replacing, the cost is explained to you first, and the repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.
If you smell gas at any point, step outside and call the gas utility. We also wipe around the burner bases to check for corrosion.
A partly blocked port or a tilted cap. Clean the head and reseat the cap. If the lean remains, we check the burner base and the orifice.
A weak igniter, residue on its tip, or a loose wire. We clean it, then test its spark. Replacement is only for igniters that fail the test.
Light scratches are cosmetic and do not affect cooking. Deep damage or warping is a different matter, and we would discuss options if you notice any.
