Viking DUAR143D Solid Door Service
The DUAR143D is a retired Designer 24-inch solid door beverage center. With no glass to look through, owners tend to notice trouble by touch: warm cans, a hum that never stops, a door that bounces open. Solid doors seal well when new, but gaskets stiffen with age, and a stiff gasket is the first thing we test.
We service a DUAR143D by measuring the cabinet temperature, cleaning the condenser and watching how the compressor runs over a full cycle. A paper strip around the door shows where the seal has lost its grip. Then we look at the shelf supports and the fan. For a retired unit, the price is written before any part is ordered, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.
Dust on the condenser, a leaking door seal or a weak fan can force constant running. We clean the coil, test the fan and check the gasket before looking at anything inside the sealed system.
Often a mild stiffness can be improved by warming and reshaping the gasket. If it has cracked or hardened, we replace it and test the new seal with a paper strip.
Usually. We check whether the clips are worn or the shelf is bent, replace the part that failed and test the shelf with a full load of bottles.
