On the Viking Incogneeto under-counter induction warmer VUIW518, a hidden food-warming unit listed by Viking with its cooktops, E-01 means the temperature sensor is broken. The warmer reads this sensor to hold food at the right temperature, so without it the unit cannot control heat and stops. The display shows E-01 and service is required. Over-temperature from blocked air intake or exhaust also flashes an error, so we rule that out first.
1. Switch the warmer off and let it cool. 2. Make sure nothing blocks the air intake or exhaust openings. 3. Unplug the unit for five seconds and plug it back in. 4. Try a short warming cycle. 5. If E-01 returns, leave the warmer off and call us.
The temperature sensor is broken, so the warmer cannot read or hold its temperature. It shuts down and shows the code until the sensor is replaced.
Blocked intake or exhaust can overheat the unit and flash an error, but E-01 itself names the sensor. Clear the openings anyway before you call.
