Viking DGSU101 30-Inch Gas Cooktop
The DGSU101 is a Designer Series 30-inch gas cooktop with continuous grates, usually found in homes that were remodeled in the Designer era. It is a retired design, so many of the units we see have a decade or more of cooking behind them.
Age shows up as burners that spark and then refuse to catch, flames that lean to one side, and low settings that blow out. We start by cleaning the burner heads and ports, since years of grease can mimic a failed part. Then we test each igniter and examine the valve action at low flame. If a worn valve needs replacing, you hear about it, with the price, before we start.
Gas smell means leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
Worn valves or partly blocked ports can destabilize a low flame. We clean the burner, check air mixture and valve movement, and tell you whether cleaning is enough or a valve needs work.
Many are available, and some need sourcing. We identify the part from your model tag, check availability, and give you a price before ordering. If no part exists, we will say so honestly.
If one burner clicks without lighting while the others work normally, the igniter or its wire is a good suspect, but a dirty port can do the same thing. We clean first and then test the spark.
