Viking DFWB300 Panel Cellar Repair
The DFWB300 is a retired Designer full-height custom panel wine cellar, 30 inches wide. A tall panel door is heavy and long, so hinge wear shows as a sag at the latch side, and the top gasket is the first to leak. A leak at the top of a tall cabinet warms the upper shelves first. Because the cellar is tall, the door also carries a long lever arm on its hinges.
We service a DFWB300 by checking hinge and door alignment, then temperature at several heights. The rear panel is inspected for frost and the fan tested. Handles are tightened. Seals are tested along the full height. Written pricing comes first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows. Finally, we check the door closes by itself from a partly open position, which tells us the seal and level are right.
A leaking top seal or weak airflow is the usual cause. Warm air that enters at the top stays there in a tall cabinet. We test the seal and the fan, and measure at several heights.
Usually, by adjusting or replacing the hinges. We check the door height at the latch side, tighten the mounting and confirm that the heavy panel closes with an even gap.
Frost at the back points to a defrost or fan problem. We test the defrost heater, the thermostat and the fan, and clear the ice, so the cellar can circulate air again.
