Viking DETU260 36-Inch Touch Cooktop
A retired Designer Series model, the DETU260 puts a 36-inch glass ceramic radiant cooktop under touch controls. The wide surface suits larger cabinets and kitchens where a gas line was not available.
Calls on touch cooktops of this kind often mean the same thing: the panel got wet, the pad seems frozen, or a zone cycles off without warning. We clean and dry the control area first and test how each pad responds. If a zone stays dark we measure the element, and if the element reads normal we look at the board output. Wide units need extra attention to the wiring where it enters the terminal block.
Our estimate arrives in writing before any parts are ordered.
We also confirm the glass edges are intact before we leave.
Turn the cooktop off at the breaker for a minute, dry the panel, and restart. If it keeps freezing, the control board or a pad may be failing and we should inspect it.
Radiant zones use limiters and sensors to protect the glass. A limiter, sensor, or board issue can cut the zone early. We test them in turn.
Some are, and some need searching. We identify the part from your cooktop's tag, confirm availability, and give you a price before we order. If a part cannot be found, we tell you that first.
