Viking VGSO100 Gas Oven Repair
The VGSO100 is a retired 30-inch gas oven with ultra-premium features and large convection oven cavities. A gas oven asks for a different kind of attention from an electric one, because ignition and the gas valve decide whether it works at all.
If it will not ignite, we test the igniter, which weakens with age and may glow without drawing enough current to open the safety valve. We also check the burner for blockage and the flame for color and size. A yellow or tiny flame means the air mix or the pressure is wrong. Convection fans get a noise and speed check, and temperature swings send us to the thermostat or sensor.
If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Retired parts are confirmed before we quote. The price is written first, with a 30-day warranty.
A weak igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas valve. We measure its current and replace the igniter if it falls short. Weak igniters are the most common reason gas ovens will not light.
The burner may be blocked, or the air mix or gas pressure may be off. We clean the burner and check the air shutter and pressure. Cleaning usually brings the flame back to a steady blue.
Leave the house, do not touch switches and call the gas utility from outside. We inspect only after the utility has made it safe. Gas utilities respond to these calls at no charge.
