Viking VDOF7301 7 Series Oven
The VDOF7301 is a current 30-inch electric double French-door oven in the 7 Series. Both doors open with one hand, the CoolLit LED lights show the food, and Vari-Speed Dual Flow convection works in a 4.7 cu ft cavity.
The one-hand opening depends on linked door mechanisms that must move in step. When the doors fail to open together or one drags, we examine the linkage, hinges and springs. Panels that leave a gap leak heat, so alignment and gaskets come next. LED lighting that goes dark or flickers is traced to the lamp, its driver and the wiring in the door frame, since LEDs do not simply burn out like bulbs.
If convection sticks at one speed, the motor and its control signal are tested. Parts for a current model are usually easy to get. We write the price before work and warrant the repair for 30 days.
The linkage may be bent or its spring weakened, or a hinge may be dragging. We inspect and adjust the mechanism and replace worn parts. Once adjusted, the doors should move in step.
The LED driver, the wiring in the door frame or the lamp itself may have failed. We test each and replace the failing one. LEDs fade or flicker when the driver weakens.
Yes, if the hinges and gaskets are in good shape. We check the closing line where the panels meet. Gap-free closing is the sign of a healthy seal.
