Viking DEDO130 Select Oven Repair
The DEDO130 is a retired 30-inch Designer series double select oven, electric. It is the wider sibling of the 27-inch DEDO127, with the same stacked layout.
On a double oven that has seen years of use, we look first at the doors. A door that will not stay shut has a worn latch or tired hinge springs, and the result is heat loss and strange temperatures. Then we measure each cavity’s bake element and compare the sensor with a reference thermometer. A control that resets itself points to the board or to a loose connection on its power supply.
We also check the supply wiring, because heavy electric loads can scorch terminals. Since the model is retired, we confirm part availability first and send a written price before work. A 30-day warranty covers the repair.
The latch may be worn or the hinge springs may have weakened. We adjust or replace them and check that the gasket seals all the way around.
Power interruptions, a loose connection or a failing board can reset it. We check the supply voltage and connections before replacing the board. Brief voltage dips are enough to reset some boards.
We measure its resistance and the current it draws. A reading far from normal confirms the element is the cause. Testing takes only a few minutes per cavity.
