What Quick Flashing means

On Viking Designer undercounter dishwashers DFUD042, DFUD142 and DFUD142P, quick flashing of the indicator reports valve leakage. These European-built models show codes as icon patterns, and this one means the inlet valve is letting water through when it should be closed. Shut off the water tap and contact service. You can clear the display by turning the main switch off and on.

Why must I close the tap?

If the valve is leaking, the water supply is still feeding it. Closing the tap stops the leak while you wait for service, and it protects the cabinet and floor.

Will turning the main switch off and on fix it?

It clears the display but not the leak. The leakage returns as soon as the valve is under pressure again, so the display will flash quickly once more.

Can I use the dishwasher on a timer?

No. Leave it off with the tap closed until we have checked the valve, because a failure while you are out of the house could flood the room.
