What HIGH LIMIT ERROR means

Viking touch-control electric wall ovens such as the Professional VESO530T and VEDO530T and the Designer DSOE305T show HIGH LIMIT ERROR when the high-limit safety thermostat switch has tripped. This switch opens when the cavity gets hotter than it should, and it cuts heating power as a last line of protection. The standard checks are the connection at P10 on the upper and lower relay board and then the high limiter itself. The oven stops heating while the message is showing.

Common causes of HIGH LIMIT ERROR

An overheating event that opened the high-limit thermostat
A heating relay that stuck closed and let the oven run too hot
A loose or burned connection at the relay board plug (P10) for the high-limit circuit
A high-limit switch that has failed open on its own
