On Viking wall ovens with the EOC4 control, such as the Designer DSOE301, the D3 RDSOE306 and the Professional VESO127 and VESO130, F08 means the RS485 serial communication between the EOC4 and the display was lost or could not be established. On the VESO127 and VESO130 it also appears when the TOD3 clock mode is set to a double oven. The oven will not take commands while it shows F08.
1. If you have a VESO127 or VESO130, open the TOD3 clock settings and make sure single-oven operation is selected. 2. Turn the oven's breaker off for a minute and restore it. 3. See whether F08 returns when the display powers up. 4. If it does, call us; the display link is behind the panel.
On the VESO127 and VESO130, setting the TOD3 to a double oven makes the control look for a second oven that does not exist. Switching it to single oven clears the error.
It is the serial link that carries messages between the EOC4 control and the display. If it breaks, the display and control cannot talk to each other and the oven stops.
Not while F08 is showing. Check the clock mode first on a VESO127 or VESO130; if that is right, a technician needs to check the display link.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
