Code 7 on Viking Professional VICU206 and VICU266 induction cooktops, hybrid VCCU106 and VCCU166 models, and the VISC530 induction range is a voltage supply error. The most direct cause is a missing L2, the second line of the 240-volt feed, though a loose cable, a defective filter board or a defective power board can also trigger it. Zones may not heat and the 7 appears.
1. Find the cooktop's double breaker in the panel and check that both halves are on. Switch it fully off, wait a minute, then fully on. 2. Check that other 240-volt appliances nearby still work. 3. If code 7 stays, stop using the cooktop. Do not open it or test the terminals; a lost line needs a licensed look.
A 240-volt cooktop is fed by two live lines, L1 and L2. If one is missing, the cooktop gets only half its supply and reports code 7.
Yes. A double breaker can trip on one side, leaving a line dead. Reset it fully off and on once; if it trips again, stop and call.
No. The missing line may be upstream, in the supply cable or connection. We check the supply first so you do not pay for a board you do not need.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
