On Viking Professional VDSC5xxT dual-fuel ranges with EOC4 control, such as the VDSC536T-6B or VDSC548T-4GQ, No Probe means the meat probe input is open, so the control sees no probe connected. It appears when you pick a probe-based cook setting without a probe plugged into the oven jack. Often nothing is broken, but a damaged probe or worn jack can also leave the input open.
1. Let the oven cool before touching the jack. 2. Push the probe plug in firmly, all the way. 3. Look at the cable for kinks, burns or flattened spots. 4. Try again with the probe tip inserted in the food. 5. If No Probe stays on with a good probe, call us.
Check that the cook mode is not set to a probe temperature. If you selected a normal bake and still see it, the probe input may be reading open and we should look at it.
Yes in most cases. Cancel the probe setting and use a regular timed bake. The message only concerns the probe input, not the heating elements.
Often it is. A new probe is cheaper than a control. We test the probe first, quote the price in writing and stand behind the work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
