Viking refrigeration, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, ice machines and outdoor grills all get repaired by our crew around Clear Lake Shores. Reserve on the website or by phone, and expect a three-hour window, usually tomorrow.
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach Viking diagnostics here.
Lots around the Clear Lake estuary were first sold in the 1920s as waterfront retreats, and the Depression stalled growth. After World War II water lines arrived and permanent residents followed; incorporation came in December 1962.
Older weekend cottages sit beside newer full-time homes, so electrical capacity varies from lot to lot. We test the circuit before installing or diagnosing any Viking range or refrigerator.
Water and sewer here come from Galveston County WCID No. 12, whose base is in Kemah next door. Its supply is bought from the Gulf Coast Water Authority and comes from the Brazos River via a Texas City plant.
Brazos supply carries minerals that can cloud ice and scale an undercounter ice machine. We replace the filter, flush the drain and suggest a maintenance interval.
Clear Lake and its marinas ring the town, so damp salty air is the norm for most of the year. Stainless trim, hinges and the fins on a refrigerator condenser corrode quicker.
Corroded condenser fins and igniters are the usual reason for calls on waterfront Viking units. Whatever can be cleaned we clean, and we say so when a part cannot be saved.
Little cottages commonly make do with an 18-inch or 24-inch dishwasher and a compact range. Bigger waterfront houses lean toward complete built-in kitchens, now and then with a beverage or wine unit near the deck.
A Viking beverage unit on an open deck needs shade and airflow, and we check both. A cottage moving up to a pro-style range may need a bigger gas line and a 240V outlet.
Highway 146 through Kemah leads to Clear Lake Shores, and it shares next-day scheduling with the Clear Lake side of Galveston County. A tight driveway is fine; just say where our van may stop without blocking neighbors. A photo of the data plate speeds the first visit.
A house empty on weekdays has its own pattern, because an ice machine idle for days can freeze its fill tube. Run the dishwasher about once a week, and close the ice machine supply if nobody will be there for a month. A tripping breaker is an electrician’s job, while a weeping supply line belongs to a plumber.
Turn the ice machine off and close its water supply for long absences, and leave the refrigerator door ajar only if it is fully emptied and switched off. We can look at both when you return.
Often the condenser cleans up and the fan checks out, though heavy corrosion can require a new part. Inspection comes first, then a written quote.
Tell us a spot where the van can stop clear of neighbors. Tomorrow is usual, and our work comes with a 30-day warranty.
