Viking VDW301WS Softener Dishwasher
The VDW301WS is a retired 300 Series 24-inch dishwasher with a water softener and an installed Professional stainless steel panel. It has three wash arms, triple filtration, a turbidity sensor, Quiet Clean insulation and racks for up to 14 place settings.
Two things shape its service history: hard water and door weight. A softener that runs short of salt lets scale form on the arms and tub, and a stainless panel puts steady load on the springs. We therefore check the softener and the door hardware early, then the filters, arms and sensor. If the machine does not drain well, the hose and pump are tested before anything is replaced.

The softener salt. If the reservoir is low or the regeneration is not running, hard water reaches the wash. We refill or repair the softener and clear any scale.
The stainless panel adds weight, and tired springs no longer balance it. We test the tension and hinges and replace worn springs so the door moves smoothly.
Indirectly. If it ends the wash early, dishes may not get a full final rinse and dry poorly. We test it along with the heating and the door seal.
