Viking FDW100WS Softener Dishwasher

Most common issues on this model

  1. Softener out of salt or not regenerating
  2. Filters packed with food debris
  3. Turbidity sensor misreading soil level
  4. Slow drain or standing water

The FDW100WS is a retired 100 Series 24-inch custom panel dishwasher with a built-in water softener. It has three wash arms, a triple filtration system, a turbidity sensor, Quiet Clean insulation and adjustable racks for up to 12 place settings.

The softener sets it apart for service. It needs salt, and if the salt runs out or the softener does not regenerate, hard water scale gradually coats the spray arms and heating area, and dishes come out cloudy. We check the softener first, then the filters, then the turbidity sensor that governs the cycle. Slow drains and standing water get the usual filter, hose and pump checks.

The price is written in advance, and a 30-day warranty applies to our work.

FDW100WSFDW100WS questions
Why are the dishes cloudy on my FDW100WS?

Hard water scale is the most likely reason, which often means the softener is out of salt or not regenerating. We check the softener first and then clean scale from the arms and tub.

What does the turbidity sensor do?

It measures how dirty the wash water is and helps choose the cycle length. If it misreads, cycles run too short. We clean and test it, and replace it only if needed.

How often should I check the softener salt?

Look at it regularly, especially if you run the machine daily. Refill before it is empty. If the salt level stays high but dishes are cloudy, call us.
